Midnight to Dawn Anzac Service Trek 2024

Start: Wednesday 11pm, 24 April, 2024

20 km Night Trek from ANZAC Square, via Brisbane River walkway to Toowong, through Brisbane Botanic Gardens into Mt Coot-tha Forest climbing to the Mt Coot-tha Lookout then down along fire trails to ANZAC memorial Park, The Gap for the official dawn service.
Registration is now closed. Please register only if requested to.

All trekkers must register and arrive at Anzac Memorial Par Walton Street Bridge The Gap, no registration available at Anzac Square Brisbane, therefore all trekkers must meet at the meeting point located at ANZAC memorial Park – Walton Street Bridge, The Gap.

We trek to support our Australian frontline workers and veterans in recognition of their extraordinary contribution to our community.​

Trek2Health’s mission is to provide support for the health and well-being of the Emergency Services and Veteran communities. We provide a supportive and stigma-free environment to boost the mental and physical resilience of our clients via Green Exercise Training – team-orientated wilderness treks, in order to create healthier individuals and more productive and compassionate communities.

First Responders are exposed to unimaginable experiences in their professional services. ​

We believe we should and can DO MORE to support the health and well being of these extraordinary individuals who risk their own safety to be there for us when we need help the most.​

For every $1,000.00 raised by community trek fundraisers,  Trek2Health will be able to assist one extraordinary Australian frontline worker or veteran achieve greater physical and mental resilience. ​

Our new system uses verification codes for security (no password needed). To register simply input your email or phone on the registration page, get the code from your phone/email right away then fill out the registration form. Please use a unique email and phone for each person in your team who registers. Your fundraising page will be ready immediately and we recommend updating your profile pic and text right away. You will remain logged in on this device, until you click “logout”. If you need to login again to finish updating your pic or story, go to your fundraising page OR the Leaderboard  click “login” (in top right) and get the verification code sent to your mobile or email. You must use the same mobile or email you used to register.  Registrations close when all places are filled. Please register ASAP and start training! PLEASE NOTE: This event is being conducted in remote areas, through terrain that is rough, steep and sometimes with no or limited vehicle access. Therefore, only children aged 16+ can participate and  trekkers 16–18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult for the entirety of the course and a parent or guardian must complete this registration.

After registration you can join a team or start a team. Please only join a team if you have been invited to join a team.

After registration, on your fundraising page, click the button “Teams” then select the team you wish to join or you can start your own team.

  • To update your display name, goal amount or profile pic click “Edit Profile”, make changes, then click “Save”
  • To update your personal story click “My Story”, make changes, then click “Save” and you can add a photo to your story if you wish
  • To join or create a team, click “Teams“. Only join a Team if you have been invited please.

INVOKE THE ANZAC SPIRIT OF SERVICE – ENDURANCE – MATESHIP – COURAGE – SACRIFICE

This trek is an opportunity to supercharge your mental and physical resilience while invoking the ANZAC spirit of service, endurance, mateship, courage and sacrifice. Your participation will make a measurable and positive difference in the lives of our Queensland frontline workers and veterans.

This is a Trek2Health fundraising event, registration is free and each participant must fundraise a minimum of $250.00 to enter the walk. You’ll receive an online fundraising page to collect donations and we’ll support you to achieve your goal – we are a team! To reach your fundraising goal you only need to find 5 sponsors to each donate $50 in support of your commitment to complete this epic Trek. Or you can fundraise your own way, e.g. hold a BBQ for 10 friends requesting a $25 donation each. Contact us if you need help with your fundraising idea.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is being conducted in remote areas, through terrain that is rough, steep and sometimes with no or limited vehicle access. Therefore, only children aged 16+ can participate and must be registered and accompanied by an adult. 

As the sun rose on 25 April 1915, Australian and New Zealand soldiers rowed towards the shores of Gallipoli and into history itself.

Every year since, as the sun rises, Australians gather across the nation to remember their legacy, and the legacy of all those who have followed in their footsteps.

Midnight to Dawn ANZAC Service Trek

The Midnight to Dawn ANZAC Service Trek 2024 will be hosted and conducted by Trek2Health.

The meeting place for this event is ANZAC Memorial Park – Walton Street Bridge, The Gap at 23:00, Wednesday April 24, 2024.

Bus transport provided to the starting point – ANZAC Square Brisbane at midnight

Destination – ANZAC memorial Park – Walton Street Bridge, The Gap at 0515

Event crew will be onsite at 2300 and the private bus charter will leave at 2320 for ANZAC Square, Brisbane city. All participants will be provided with a trek handbook with the registration confirmation email, this will explain all aspects of what to bring for this overnight trek.

The route taken consists of an 20.0km walk via city streets onto the Brisbane river walkway towards Toowong, after some local streets crossing to the Western motorway, passing through Brisbane Botanic Gardens into Mt Coot-tha Forest to commence the climb up to the lookout at Mt. Coot-tha for a well-earned rest and take in the views of the city below.

Continuing in a westerly direction along fire trails and down the western side of Mt. Coot-tha, along local roads and tracks that take us to ANZAC memorial Park – Walton Street Bridge, The Gap by 0515 in time for the official dawn service and breakfast after the service.

Your Commitment

I understand that I will be fully prepared physically and have the appropriate personal gear and rations to complete the Midnight Blue Trek.

I understand that my ticket price is complimentary and I must fundraise a minimum of $250.00 to enter this walk.

Trek2Health is hosting this fundraising trek event as it important to support those who have sacrificed their physical and mental well-being for a safer community. Funds raised allow Trek2Health to provide mental wellness services to First Responders and Emergency Services personal such as firefighters, EMTs, veterans and police officers in our communities. *conditions: minimum fundraising total of $2,000 to qualify for this prize.

 

Please note that the cutoff time for earning the prize and fundraiser rewards is 11:00 PM on April 24, 2024 (the starting time of the trek). Any donations made after the cutoff time will not count towards the prize. Remember, only donations made to your individual fundraising page will count towards this prize. If any donations are accidentally made to your team page, please contact us before the cutoff time for assistance (support@trek2health.org.au).

We kindly request that you try to secure donations a few days in advance (if possible) so we can prepare your rewards for pickup on the day. In case of numerous last-minute donations, we may need to arrange pickup or delivery of your rewards. Please note that the surfboard winner will be announced on the day, and pickup details will be organised at a later date.
